This session will examine inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in dogs, focusing on the genetic, immunologic, clinicopathologic, and microbiologic features of these disorders. An overview of treatment strategies and parameters which provide longโ€term prognostic information will also be covered. Finally, the potential value of the dog as a spontaneous model for studying mechanisms of inflammation in human IBD will conclude the discussion.
