In this first segment of a 4-part series we will be focusing on the types of information needed to make the most appropriate, individualized treatment plans for our canine patients with chronic kidney disease. In particular, we will focus on why the information is important and how it helps make clinical decisions. This will include a look at some of the newer diagnostic testing options available and how those can be incorporated into our workups of patients. This will provide a foundation for the next session when we begin discussing the therapeutic options for managing CKD.
